One thing going for trekking enthiusiasts in Bohol is that the island's terrain does not look too daunting. It does not have high-peaked mountains, and in fact its highest point is only a kilometer above sea level, which is fairly negotiable to the average trekker.
The island no longer has thick virgin forests where one could get lost or bitten by wild animals, but its rivers can be challenging at times. Otherwise one can choose a path most travelled by and arrive in one piece on the same day. Of great help is the establishment of rest huts alone some trails and the presence of reliable guides who are certified to be honest and true to their calling.
For tarsier lovers, exploring the forest around Corella town could chance on the rare animal, a nocturnal and shy fellow with trademark large rounded eyes. In case the chance encounter does not take place, there's a tarsier breeding station nearby which one can visit for a quick meeting with the prized animal - in a cage.
